Who we are

Sunny Retreats is a holiday apartment in Qala, Gozo, Malta, run by Marco and Elaine. We decide how the information described here is used, which makes us the data controller for it. You can reach us on+356 7973 1310 or by WhatsApp.

What we collect, and why

When you send an enquiry through this website we collect your name, email address, optional phone number, requested dates, the number of guests, and anything you write in the message box. We use it for one purpose: to reply to you and, if you go on to book, to arrange your stay. The lawful basis is that processing it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.

We do not use your details for marketing, and we do not sell or share them with anyone for their own purposes.

Where it goes

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Your enquiry is passed to Brevo, which sends it to us as an email. Both act as processors on our instructions. The enquiry is not stored in any database on this website — it exists as an email in our inbox, and in our booking records if the stay goes ahead.

Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the form is being submitted by a person rather than a bot. It does not use cookies and does not track you across websites.

Cookies and analytics

This website sets no cookies and does not track you. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you or following you to other sites. That is why you have not been asked to accept a cookie banner.

Fonts and images are served from this site itself, so loading a page does not send a request to any third party.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into a booking are deleted within twelve months. Records relating to an actual stay are kept for as long as Maltese tax and accommodation rules require, and then deleted.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to the way we are using it. Write to us using the contact details above and we will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Maltese Information and Data Protection Commissioner (idpc.org.mt).

Changes

If we change how this website handles your information we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
